John May to Charles Sallard

This Indenture made the Eight day of February in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand seven hundred and ninety-six Between Charles Sallard of Nottoway County of the one part and John May of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnessesth that the said Charles Sallard for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds sixteen shillings current money of Virginia to him in had paid by the said John May, the receipt whereof the sd. Charles Sallard doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted bargained sold & confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, Bargain, Sell Alien enfeeoff and confirm unto the said John May his Heirs and assigns, one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing by survey Fifty nine acres lying on the East side of -------(left blank) Road in the said County of Nottoway and bounded as follow, Beginning at the road aforesaid in Tomas Connaly's line, then North seventy seven and a half degrees East Seventy eight poles along a path to a conner post oak in T. Connally's line, Thence Forth Two and a half degrees West Eighty six poles to post Oak in the sd. May's old line, then North eighty eight degrees West One hundred and twenty eight poles to a black oak on the road aforesaid, thence down said road South Easterly to the beginning, with the reversion and reversions thereof and all the Estate, right, title, Interest, claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Charles Sallard of in or to the premisses thereof. To have and To hold the said Tract or parcel of Land and Premisses together with all and singular its appurtenances thereunto belonging or any wise appertaining unto the said John May his heirs and assigns forever and I. The said Charles Sallard for myself my heirs, Executors and Administrators doth warrant and forever defend the right and Title of the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land and Premisses with all its appurtenances against all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming the same or any part Thereof, In Witness whereof I the said Charles Sallard hath hererunto Set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year xx above written:

Memorandum , That on the Eighth day of February Seventeen hundred and ninety six livery and seisin of the within mentioned Land and premisses was Given by the within named Charles Sallard to the within named John May his heirs &C according to the form and effect of the within Deed.
