This Indenture made this Twenty fifth Day of October one Thousand Seven Hundred
and Eighty seven by and Between Sherod Mayse of the County of Henry of the one
part and John Smith of the County aforesaid of the other part  Witnesseth that
the sd Sherod Mayse for and in Consideration of the sum of Forty Pounds Current
Money to him in hand paid by the said John Smith the Receipt whereof he doth
hereby acknowledge hath Bargained sold and by these Presents do Bargain sell
alien and Confirm unto him the sd John Smith his heirs and assigns forever one
certain Tract or Parcell of Land Lying and being in the County aforesaid
Containing by Estimation Seventy five Acres be the same more or less and Bounded
as followeth To witt:  Beginning at a Black oak in Adonijah Harbours old line
thence along the sd line up fall Creek to John Witts Corner white oak  Thence
along Witts line up the North fork Crossing the Creek to a Corner Black oak 
Thence Westward to a Corner Chestnut thence along a new line made by the said
Mayse and John Jonnykin to the first Station  The Reversion and Reversions,
Remainder and Remainders Right Estate Interest and Benefit Claim and Demand
Whatsoever of the sd Sherod Mayse of in or to the same or any Part thereof To
have and to hold the sd Tract or Parcell of Land and all and Singular the
Premises with their and every of their appurtenances to the only use and behoof
of him the sd John Smith his heirs & assigns forever & the sd Sherod Mayse doth
hereby for himself & his heirs Warrant and Defend forever from the Claim or
title of any Person or Persons Whatsoever  In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and affixed my seal the Day and year above Written.

At a Court held for Henry County on the 14th day of April 1788
The within written Indenture was proved by the oaths of the witnesses Thereunto
to be the act & Deed of the within named Sherod Mayse & the same was ordered to
be Recorded by the Court.
