This Indenture made this Thirteenth of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifteen between Benjamin Hudson of the State of Tennessee and Humphrey County of the one part and William Mayes of the State of Kentucky and Logan County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred Dollars to him the said Benjamin Hudson in hand paid by him the said William Mayes as the receipt where of is hereby ackownledged by him the said Benjamin Hudson hath given granted and ennoff unto him the said William Mayes a certain tract or parcel of land being part of two tracts granted to John Guin lying and being in Sumner County in the State of Tennessee on the waters of Stranden or lick branch of the Barren Fork of Drakes Creek of Barren River containing One Hundred Seventy Five acres of land be the same more or less. Beginning at a Post Oak on Chamberlain Hudsons North boundary line of a tract of Six Hundred and Forty acres it being Elijah Wrights Southwest corner running West with said Hudson off a North boundary line One Hundred Twenty Two poles to a small Post Oak thence East (crossing the spring branch) One Hundred Twenty Two poles to a Black Oak in the West boundary line of John Bonis (part of the afore Two tracts of John Guins) thence South with said Bonises West boundary line and passing a corner betwixt said bonis and Elijah Wrights and with said Wrights West boundary line in all Two Hundred Thirty poles to the beginning, to have and to hold from him the said Benjamin Hudson and his heirs executors admininistrators or assigns togeother with all and every of the woods waters minis minerals to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and from all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming the same in testimony whereof I the said Benjamin Hudson have hereunto set my hand affixed my seal the day and date the first above written.
