This Indenture made the Tenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and Sixteen Between James Mays Sr., of the County of Nelson of the one part and Robert Mays Jur of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Love and affection which I the said James Mays Senr have for and bear toward my said son Robert Mays Jun. And for and in the further consideration of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I the said James Mays Sr. have given granted bargained and sold and do by these presents give grant bargain and sell unto the said Robert Mays Junr. And to his heirs forever in fee simple the following tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Nelson on the waters of Tye River containing two hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less and adjoining the land of Zachariah White, Hector Cabell James Mays Junr. And James Bibb Senr. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining being the same land heretofore conveyed by me to my son Archelus Mays and which reverted to me by his death. To Have and to hold the land aforesaid with all its appurtenances to the only use and behoof of him the said Robert Mays Junr and his Heirs forever in fee simple and the said James Mays Senr doth for himself his heirs Exec. And ads. Covenant and agree to warrant and forever defend the Land aforesaid to the said Robert Mays and to his Heirs forever in fee simple free from the claim title and demand of all and every person whomsoever ~ In Witness whereof the said James Mays Senr and Isabella Mays his wife who hereby assents to this conveyance have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.
