William Mays

This Indenture made this 6th of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen Thousand One Hundred and Fifteen between William Mays Jr. and Susannah his wife of the County of Ckmberland and the State of Kentucky of the Said Part and Pierce Wade of the same County and State of the Other Part. Witnesseth, that for and in considera- tion of the sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Dollars Current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid, before the ensealing and delivering of these presents-the re- ceipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold, released, and confirmed unto the said Pierce Wade an certain tract a parcel of land containing One Hund- red Thirty Acres situate, lying and being in the Couty aforesaid and on the Waters of Marrowbone Creek a brance of the Cumberland River and bounded as followeth, To Wit, Beginning at a Sugar tree and a White Oak thence North Forty One Degrees West Two Hundred Twenty One poles to a bench thence West Forty Four poles to an Ash and Hickory thence South One Hundred Seventy Nine poles to a Sugar tree and Bench thence EAst One Hundred and Seventy Nine poles to a Sugar tree and Ash thence North Twenty Four poles to the Beginning. Together with all Woods, Ways, Water and Water Cources, Trees, Orchards, Houses, Farms and all other encroach- ments there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to Have and Hold the same unto the said Pierce Wade with its appertenances to Hold and Fully enjoy the same and we do for ourselves our heirs and forever warrant and defend the right and title of this land and premises to him the said Pierce Wade and his heirs for- ever against the claims or demand of any person or persons, whatsoever either in law or equity. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this day and year above written.
