Land office Treasury Warrant, Number Twenty thousand one hundred seventy one,
issued the 24th day of October, One thousand seven hundred Eighty Three.
this is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Abraham Mays a certain
tract or parcel of land containing Two hundred and seventy Seven Acres by
survey having date the fourth day of November One thousand seven hundred and
Ninety. Lying and being in the County of Henry on the head branch of
Marrowbone Creek and bounded as followeth to witt.Beginning at John Witts
corner pine thence with soid Witts line North One hundred an Ninty poles to
Pointers in Rudes line, with Rudes Pine South forty one degrees West
Thirty Three Poles to a Poplar, North forty two degrees West,Forty four
Poles to a Spanish Oak, North seven degrees West, fifty four Poles to
Pointers, thence new here South ten degrees West, One hundred Jamestown Poles
to a double chestnut North seventy degrees West twenty five poles to a
chestnut on a branch, South eight degrees West two hunfred and twenty poles
crossing three banches to a red Oak.South thirty degrees West Eighty four
poles to a white Oak in Thomas Hollingsworths line. Thence with his line South
fifty eight degrees East forty poles crossing a branch to a Poplar, South five
degrees East twenty three Poles toa Dogwood, South fifty six degrees West
thirty two Poles to a Hickory on Blackberry Creek. down the same sixty degrees
East, Sixty eight Poles to a gum on said break in John Witts old line. With it
North twenty two degrees East twenty seven poles to white oak in said Witts
new survey.Thence the same North three degrees East one hundred sixty four
poles to red Oak, North twenty four degrees East one hundred and fifty poles,
crossing a branch to a pine. thence north seventy one degrees west thirty one
and a half poles crossing a branch to the beginning. With its assurtenances.
To have and to hold the said tract or parcel with its assurtenances, to
the said Abraham Maze and hes Heirs forever. ______ Where as the said Robert
Brooke Esquire, Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath here unto set his
hand ______________ seal of the said commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on
the Ninth day of Fefruary in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred
Ninty five, of the Commonwealth the Nineteenth.
