In the name of God amen. I Henri Mayes of
the County of Northumberland in the Colony of Virginia being sick and weak in
body but of perfect sense and memory praise be to god for the same. I give and
bequeath my soul to God my Creator and my redeemer. Item my Will is that my son
Henry Mays should have my Land and all its appurtenances thereunto belonging
and no more. To him and his Heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my
children - that is Natham Mayes and Suzanar Mays all the rest of my Estate
after my debts all pade and Satisfied. Further my will is that my two friends
Thomas Everitt and Moses Lunsford shall be my Executors of this my Last Will
and Testament ~

At a Court held for Northumberland County
the 13th day August 1750. This Last Will and Testament of Henry
Mayes Deceased was presented in Court by Thomas Everrit one of the Executors
therein named who made oath there to according to Law, and the same was proved
by the oaths of Thomas James and Winniford Loweny Witnesses thereto and ordered
to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executor certificate is granted
him for obtaining a probate thereon in due form ~
