Will of William Mays, Sr.
In the Name of God, Amen,
I, William Mays, Senior of the County of Cumberland and the State of Kentucky, being afflickted in body but a sound mind do by these presences this 28th day of October in the year of our Lord 1814, make this my will and testament;
In the first place, I desire that my body may be buried in decency and I commend my spirit to God who gave it in hope of the resurection to life eternal through Jesus Christ;
And in the second place, I bequeath unto my daughter Sally McCarty and Mary Cook at my death Fifty Dollars out of my stock of horses, I leave to be equally divided between them;
And in the third place, I bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary, all the residue of my property, both real and personal during her life, and after her death I leave my land and property to be equally divided amongst all my children and I do hereby revoke and disclaim and revoke any other will and testament; In witness whereof I have thereunto set my Seal and subscribed my name this day above written.
